Catching Up With…Emily Sharpe, Class of 2015
Emily came back to CPACTC for Cosmetology Alumni Day. Graduates for the program returned to speak with currently enrolled students in a speed-dating style meet and greet, that allowed students to hear about different types of jobs in the industry from a first-hand perspective.
Describe the company or industry in which you currently work.
“I own a suite on the Carlisle Pike.”
What is your job title and what do you do?
“Salon Owner/Cosmetologist.”
What additional education and training did you receive after leaving CPACTC?
“I worked in three other salons before become self-employed.”
What other education and training did you receive after CPACTC?
“I attended DeReille Cosmetology Academy to finish my hours needed. It prepared me for the industry to attend CPACTC. I have taken some continuing education through Cosmoprof and various companies that offer classes.”
How was Cumberland Perry different from your regular high school?
“Career-oriented education. What I learned here, is what I use every day for my livelihood.”
How has your industry changed?
“Cosmetology trends and equipment change all the time.”
What is your favorite CPACTC memory?
“Far too many to choose from.”
