Dylan Smith recently visited Cumberland Perry, as a Hass Automations Technician, to work on machine repairs in the program he graduated from; Advanced Manufacturing Technology.
We asked Dylan to fill us in on his experiences since leaving CPACTC. Here is what he had to share:
Describe the company or Industry in which you currently work.
"I work at a company that specializes in fixing and maintaining HAAS CNC Machines".
What is your job title and what do you do?
"I am a Haas Certified Field Service Engineer. I work on all Haas CNC equipment".
What other employment have you had related to your program areas at CPACTC?
"I worked at a shop in Carlisle called USA Spares for a few months".
What additional education/training did you receive after leaving CPACTC?
"The only extra education that I received was through Phillips Corporations to become Haas Certified".
How was Cumberland Perry different than your regular high school?
"I didn't have a lot of classes to focus on here, just had my shop class, and for 2 years social studies".
What is your favorite CPACTC memory?
"My favorite memory from here, would have to be Career Day, and Safety day, where they had the food trucks, and first responders and all kinds of activities in the parking lot and on the property for us to enjoy".
