Zachary Wood, a senior from Red Land High School, leaves his house every morning and goes right to work. Being enrolled in the Cooperative Education program at Cumberland Perry Area CTC, allows him to earn while he learns. And thanks to having met all his graduation requirements early, he has the opportunity to work 8-hour day while many of his classmates report to school. After 2 years of classroom and hands on training in the Automotive Collision program, Zachary was offered a position with Fisher Auto Body in Mechanicsburg. There, he reports to work each day to find a new task awaiting his arrival. His training in the Auto Collision program helped prepare him to remove damaged parts, pull and fill dents, weld panels, trouble shoot problems, and the many other tasks associated with damaged vehicles. These real-world situations are difficult to duplicate in the classroom setting. Zachary has cherished this opportunity and says it has helped prepare him for all future endeavors. His career path is headed in the right direction!
